Western Manufacturing recognizes the significant contribution the Aboriginal, First Nations, Inuit, Metis, Native American and Indigenous ("Aboriginal") peoples have had in the past, and we also see the importance of their role and involvement in building a strong and sustainable future. As such, we embrace our responsibility to assist in building strong foundations and capacity within the aboriginal communities where we live and work.
Western Manufacturing believes the foundation for strong, vibrant, and sustainable communities is education. We are committed to working with and investing in Aboriginal communities through mentorship programs, curriculum, and apprenticeship training; allowing individuals to become part of a growing workforce and the opportunity to develop their full leadership potential.
Western Manufacturing recognizes the importance of language, culture and ceremonial traditions in the Aboriginal communities. Not only are they an integral part of their treaties, but their language and traditions link them to their historical way of life, providing elders and community leaders with tools and management systems to make decisions on future land and resource use.
